President's Letter
PRESIDENT'S PEN
Dear DIS Families and Staff,
It’s with great enthusiasm that I welcome new and returning families as well as Dallas International School teachers and staff to our 2009-2010 school year. It promises to be another great year for the PTO. Most of you know of the PTO but some may be new to the concept so let me explain. PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. We are here to foster community spirit through various activities and to help raise funds for the school.
As PTO president it is my responsibility to talk to you about getting involved in our school. We have so many different volunteer opportunities that require different skills so I’m confident that you will find something that will interest you. Any amount of time you have to give is a plus and don’t forget that all our kids are the direct benefactors of our efforts!
We have so many great events this year, some new such as our fall carnival and the return of our Moms’ Night Out and recurring ones like our Gala, Book Fair, Trivia Night just to name a few . I encourage you to attend as many events as you can not only to show your support but also simply to have a good time and meet other parents!
On behalf of the PTO, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that already have been working tirelessly throughout the summer to make this coming school year outstanding. I do want to extend the same recognition to the school administrators, teachers and support staff especially our PTO teacher representatives Indigo Tucker, Sonia Krumb and Indigo Tucker.
Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas. I look forward to seeing you at many of our school events.
Sincerely,
Nayla Saouaf
PTO president 2009-2010
